2014 Whistler Winter Soundtrack Search Whistler Blackcomb is proud to collaborate with Whistler FM to provide a platform for Whistler’s talented musical artists through the Mountain Music Project. The Mountain Music Project collects and curates a library of music connected to Whistler and British Columbia to be used as the soundtrack for Whistler Blackcomb’s original videos. The Whistler Winter Soundtrack Search will take place from November 19 to December 8th 2014. Not only will Whistler FM feature songs selected for the Mountain Music Project on-air and through live performances but Whistler Blackcomb will also use selected songs for their videos. Soundtrack Search Criteria 1. This contest is open to emerging artists who compose and perform original material. 2. If there is more than one writer, all co-writers must be in agreement for the song to be submitted. If there are co-writers on the winning entrant, the prize package must be divided between co-writers at their mutual discretion 3. All entrants must submit one original song in an mp3 format to whistlerfm.ca. The song entry may not exceed five (5) minutes in length. 4. Winners will be judged by a committee comprised of music industry professionals. Prizes will be awarded jointly to all band members or individual artists. Division of prizes is the responsibility of the winners. 5. The lyrics entered must not include or contain any material that is obscene, offensive, defamatory, pornographic, threatening or abusive, content that is otherwise objectionable or would be deemed inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive. 6. All winners must sign and return Master Use and Synchronization License confirming that the song entered is original and he/she holds rights to the song. Failure to sign and return the form within 5 days or provision of false information may result in disqualification and an alternative winners will be selected. 7. Whistler Blackcomb and Whistler FM shall have the right to use the song at their sole discretion, which comprises the lyrics and music of the entrant. Whistler Blackcomb and Whistler FM are not obligated to pay any royalties or fees of any kind to the author/entrant, except for the prize should the entrant’s song be selected as one of the prize winning entrants. Mountain Music Project musicians will receive: • Video Credit • Musical credit in the video, on the bottom left hand corner with band and song name, at the beginning. • Credit after the WB logo at the end of the video • iTunes hyper link at the end (YouTube & Vimeo) for interested viewers to purchase the song direct • Credit within the video description copy • Band/Artist Page will be tagged on Facebook video posts • Twitter handle tagged on Tweets for video • Whistler Blackcomb ski/ride experience complete with apres. Enter the Whistler Winter Soundtrack Search - and your song could be the feature soundtrack for one of Whistler Blackcomb’s epic ski and snowboard videos.
